We celebrated the launch of MapD Cloud by hosting our first MapD Office Hours last week. At the first session, the Community Team was present, along with Marc Balaban and Michael Thomson as subject matter experts from the engineering side of MapD. Mike Hinchey from the Support team also attended to offer advice if needed.

Office Hours are perfect for getting real-time information and help from the people that build and deploy MapD. We can offer the time and attention to go in-depth on questions and issues. So if you have an idea, or a problem, or a question, we invite you to join us. We can walk through MapD and datasets together. At the first session, we spent 30 minutes discussing an integration, and the community member launched and populated MapD Cloud during the call.

We promised that if the experiment showed results, we would consider next steps. We’ve decided to continue the experiment every week, alternating between 9am Pacific time and 4pm Pacific time. This hour each week is perfect for discussing complex use cases, troubleshooting issues, chatting, or just hanging out with us. We’ll bring a demo or two if there’s empty airtime. The forum still works as an asynchronous channel for less complex questions.

Here is the schedule for MapD Cloud office hours for the rest of April:

  • Wednesday, April 18th - 9:00am PDT
  • Wednesday, April 25th - 4:00pm PDT

Also, in case you missed them, here are the recordings of the first office hours session.

Thanks for your participation and contributions. We look forward to raising a glass of coffee, tea, beer, wine, or water with you soon.
