I am very excited to announce that this fall, OmniSci will launch our first-ever user conference, Converge. The conference will be held October 21 - 23 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California, which celebrates both the history of computing and where it is going in the future—a fitting venue for OmniSci’s inaugural conference as we come together to discuss the paradigm-shifting capabilities of GPU-accelerated technologies.

Converge 2019 will be three jam-packed days with opportunities for attendees to go deep on the technologies that are poised to revolutionize data analytics, data visualization, and data science. We wanted to create an opportunity for the global OmniSci community to come together—to converge—and learn, connect and share with each other. That’s not all, there will be plenty of other exciting announcements taking place at Converge, but those will have to wait until October. For now, here’s a sneak peek of what conference attendees can expect.

  • Inspiring keynote presentations

Some of the brightest minds in the industry will take the stage at Converge, including Wes McKinney and Travis Oliphant. Wes and Travis have played a formative role in the creation of the modern data science stack, between them either founding or significantly contributing to the NumPy, SciPy, conda, pandas, Parquet, and Arrow projects. At Converge, we’ll have a chance to hear first-hand their inspiring visions for the future of the ecosystem and thoughts around the growing importance of hardware acceleration in data science workflows.

  • Hands-on workshops

Dig into new projects, connect with other like-minded professionals, and get your questions answered during interactive workshop sessions hosted by the OmniSci product and community teams.

  • Inspirational sessions

With more than 30 sessions, Converge promises something for everyone. Dive deep into SQL analytics, data visualization, location intelligence, data science, and more, and learn from inspiring and insightful speakers.

Converge is a can’t-miss event for anyone interested in GPU-accelerated analytics and data science and how they are transforming the way that work gets done. Mark your calendars now for October 21-23, and we’ll see you in Mountain View!
